Takṣaśilādi (तक्षशिलादि).—A class of words headed by तक्षशिला (takṣaśilā) to which the taddhita affix अ (a) (अञ् ()) is added in the sense of 'a native place or a domicile'. The word so formed has the acute accent on its first vowel; e. g. ताक्षशिलः वात्सोद्वरणः (tākṣaśilaḥ vātsodvaraṇaḥ); cf. Kas. on P. IV. 3.93.
