Svayambuddha (स्वयम्बुद्ध) is the name of one of the ministers of Mahābala (one of Ṛṣabha’s previous incarnations), according to chapter 1.1 [ādīśvara-caritra] of Hemacandra’s 11th century Triṣaṣṭiśalākāpuruṣacaritra: an ancient Sanskrit epic poem narrating the history and legends of sixty-three illustrious persons in Jainism.—Accordingly, “[...] One day, [Mahābala] occupied his assembly-hall which was adorned by many ministers and vassals as if by additional jeweled pillars. All the councilors sat down in their proper places after bowing to him and, with their eyes fixed on him, had the appearance of Yogis. The ministers Svayambuddha, Sambhinnamati, Śatamati, Mahāmati were present there. [...]”.
