Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationSvarūpiṇī (स्वरूपिणी) refers to “she who assumes a particular form”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.33 (“The appeasement of Himavat”).—Accordingly, as Vasiṣṭha said to Himavat (Himācala): “[...] The primordial nature, born of Śiva, maintains threefold forms in the creative activity, partially out of sport with diverse digits. Vāṇī, the deity presiding over the activity of speech, is born of his mouth; Lakṣmī, in the form of riches (sarvasampat-svarūpiṇī), is born out of his chest. Pārvatī manifested herself in the splendours of the gods. After killing all the demons she granted riches and glory to the gods. [...]”.
