suṭaṇēṃ (सुटणें).—v i (suṭṭa S To despise, disregard, slight &c. Or H) To become loose or free generally; to get loose from bonds or bondage; to be extricated or released from restraint, confinement, embarrassment, trouble, evil, of any kind. 2 To part or come asunder; to be untied, undone, unglued, disjoined, disengaged, disunited;--as a knot, tie, ligature, bandage, any association or connection, any compages or contexture. 3 To break out or burst forth; to form or come; to arise into being or issue into appearance;--as perspiration, flushings, tremors, an itching, a titillation &c.; an exudation or ooze, a fœtor or smell, mould, discoloration, any inward fermentation or working, or any outward effect or indication of it: also to spring up (in the mind) powerfully and constrainingly; to rise into active operation;--as terror, lust, cupidity, affection, anger &c.: also to break out and spread generally and vehemently;--as a plague, a disease, oppression, a calamity &c.: also to break forth and blow (whether with or without violence);--wind: to set in furiously; to descend in torrents;--rain: to blaze and spread wildly and irrestrainably;--a conflagration, a fire: to run off wildly and madly;--a frightened horse, bullock &c.: to burst all bonds and checks; to become dissolute, desperate, and reckless. 4 To break from (whatever may be supposed to restrain, obstruct, embarrass &c.) and rush head-long upon, on, at (a work, business, employment, act, or course of action); to set to with full swing; to engage in ardently and with energetic determination. Note. In this sense the verb often assumes into conjunction, and under the form of the present participle, another verb denoting the particular act or course which is the object of this vehement or vigorous onset; as tō mārīta suṭalā, śivyā dēta suṭalā, bōlata suṭalā, khāta suṭalā, gāta suṭalā, paḷata suṭalā. 5 To go off; to explode or be discharged;--a gun &c. 6 To burst its due limit or line; i. e. to become loose, flabby, morbidly big;--used of the belly. 7 Seminis emissione affectus esse ad fœminam vel fœminâ conspectâ;--used esp. of a beast.
