Source: archive.org: Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society 1963Surālla is another name for Challūra: an ancient tank that existed near the ancient kingdom of Anurādhapura, Ceylon (Sri Lanka).—Mahāsena (275-301) built Challūra tank also called Surālla and Suralla. Later, Surulu tank is ascribed to Dhātusena (455-473). At Suralla, in Maharaṭṭha, a part of Parakkamabāhu’s forces was trapped and later relieved. All these names refer to present Huruluvava (Huruluvāva), recently restored, near Yakālla on the Eastern Minor Road.
