Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA city where Sumana Buddha performed the Yamakapatihariya (BuA.128). King Uggata built there, for Sobhita Buddha, a vihara named Surinda (BuA.139). In this city Tissa Buddha died in the Sunandarama (BuA.192).
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
