Sūkṣmavikṣepa (सूक्ष्मविक्षेप) refers to “subtle distraction” and represents one of the two kinds of distraction (vikṣepa), according to the 2nd century Mahāprajñāpāramitāśāstra (chapter XXVIII). Accordingly, “Subtle distraction (sūkṣma-vikṣepa) is of three types according to whether it abounds in attachment (āsaṅgabahula), pride (abhimānabahula) or wrong view (dṛṣṭibahula)”.
