Sthāpanānikṣepa (स्थापनानिक्षेप, “symbols”) refers to one of the four nikṣepa (gateways of investigations by installing/ presenting / positionig).—What is meant by symbols (sthāpanā-nikṣepa)? To cast in wood or stone or metal or clay or even miseryting any object is called representation. How many subtypes of symbols are there? There are two subtypes of symbols namely; similar (tadākāra) and dissimilar (atadākāra).
