Staṃbhanikapārśvanātha (स्तंभनिकपार्श्वनाथ) or Staṃbhanikapārśvanāthastuti is the name of a work by Abhayadeva dealing with classical hymns and stotras from Jain literature.—The Staṃbhanikapārśvanātha-stuti (in Prakrit with interlinear Rajasthani commentary) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The title as given in this manuscript emphasizes the local connection of the pārśva image with Thaṃbhaṇa, mod. Cambay (Khambhat) in Gujarat. In some parts the post-positions are Gujarati, Hindi and Rajasthani and testify to the hybridity of the language of the comm. This commentary follows closely the Sanskrit commentary described in the preceding entry.
