Source: What is India: Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy (1945-1952)Śobhārāmpur is an archaeologically important site situated in Tippera District (Bangladesh), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at Śobhārāmpur there is a Sanskrit inscription which records a grant of three adjoining villages, situated in the Chātihara-khaṇḍala, comprised within the Miḍillī vishaya of the Samataṭa-maṇḍala in the Pauṇḍravardhana-bhukti, to two Brāhmaṇas, Kauśika and Devarāta, of the Agniveśya-gotra. The grant is stated to have been made by the king at the instance of Mudrādhikāri-saciva Gautamadatta, a worshipper of Gautama.
This inscription belongs to king Dāmodaradeva of the Deva dynasty.
