Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA village which Sena IV. converted into a parivena, evidently for his retirement (Cv.liv.6). Later, a monk, named Dhammamitta, lived there and wrote a Commentary on the Abhidhamma. Cv.liv.35.
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
