Siṃhanādanādin (सिंहनादनादिन्) refers to “one who roars the lion’s roar”, according to the Gaganagañjaparipṛcchā: the eighth chapter of the Mahāsaṃnipāta (a collection of Mahāyāna Buddhist Sūtras).—Accordingly, “Then the Brahmā Prabhāvyūha addressed himself to the Lord [...] O Lord, since his former roots of good have been not yet repaid by anyone, that the Bodhisattvas Gaganagañja roars this lion’s roar (siṃhanādanādin) in the present time is the outcome of the profound practice in the past’. The Lord said: ‘Quite so, it is just as you have said. The incomparable complete awakening of the Bodhisattvas arises from the former roots of good, merits, and knowledges’”.
