死靈 [si ling]—(sǐ líng) — [General Term] The spirit of the dead that harms people is referred to as a "" (sǐ líng) or an "惡靈 [e ling]" (è líng). All such beings are born from the deluded beliefs and illusions (妄信妄想 [wang xin wang xiang]) of those who are confused. There is no mention of them in Buddhist scriptures (佛經 [fu jing]).

死靈—【雜名】死者之靈魂，為害於人，曰死靈惡靈。皆是由迷者之妄信妄想而生者。佛經無其說。
