Śyenāsana (श्येनासन) is a type of posture (āsana), according to verse 38 of the Śrītattvanidhi.—Accordingly, “Take the position of viparītanṛtyāsana. Touch the nose on the ground and bring it up again. This is śyenāsana, the hawk”.

The 19th-century Śrītattvanidhi is a sanskrit treatise describing 80 primary āsanas, or ‘posture’ (e.g., śyena-āsana) and several additional ones.
