Śvobhūtivṛtti (श्वोभूतिवृत्ति).—A grammatical work of the type of a gloss on the Sutras of Panini written by an ancient grammarian श्वोभूति (śvobhūti) mentioned in the Mahabhasya; cf. स्तोष्याम्यहं पादिकमौदवाहिं ततः श्वेभूते शातनीं पातनीं च (stoṣyāmyahaṃ pādikamaudavāhiṃ tataḥ śvebhūte śātanīṃ pātanīṃ ca) M. Bh. on P. I.1.57. Possibly the grammarian श्वोभूति (śvobhūti) is referred to in the word श्वोभूत (śvobhūta) in the verse.
