Śvetaśilā (श्वेतशिला) is the Sanskrit name for an unidentified medicinal plant, according to verse 5.43-44 of the 13th-century Raj Nighantu or Rājanighaṇṭu. Note: Also see Pāṣāṇabheda.

Śvetaśilā is mentioned as having seven synonyms: Śvetā, Śilāvalkā, Śilājā, Śailavalkalā, Valkalā, Śailagarbhāhvā and Śilātvak.

Properties and characteristics: “Śvetaśilā is cooling (hima) and sweet (svādu). It cures dysuria, obstinate urinary disorders including diabetes mellitus, stones or lithiasis, renal colic, consumption (kṣaya) and the diseases due to vitiated ptita”.
