Śvetagandhaka (श्वेतगन्धक, “white sulphur”):—One of the four varieties of Gandhaka (‘sulphur’), which is part of the uparasa group of eight minerals, according to the Rasaprakāśasudhākara: a 13th century Sanskrit book on Indian alchemy, or, Rasaśāstra. It has a white color and is recommended for the Lohamāraṇa process.
Śvetagandhaka is a variety of Gandhaka (“Sulphur”).—It is similar to Khaṭikā (chalk) in colour (white), by its paste lohamāraṇa (reducing of metals to ashes) may be done without any doubt, it is my experience says the author.
