水麻 [shuǐ má] [shui ma]—
Botanical name. A genus of Boehmeria in the Urticaceae family, an evergreen shrub or small tree. It can grow up to about two meters tall, with alternate leaves that are narrowly lanceolate or oblong, and densely covered with grayish-white short down on the back. The capitate inflorescences are clustered in umbels in the leaf axils. The achenes are aggregated into a spherical, berry-like fruit that can be eaten and used medicinally to treat rheumatoid arthritis (風溼性關節炎 [feng shi xing guan jie yan]), athlete's foot (腳風 [jiao feng]), etc., and can also be used as a fiber raw material.
水麻:植物名。蕁麻科水麻屬,常綠灌木或小喬木。高約二公尺,葉互生,狹披針形或長橢圓形,背面密被灰白色短絨毛。頭狀花序團繖狀簇生葉腋。瘦果集結成球形,漿果狀,可供食用、入藥,治療風溼性關節炎、腳風等,亦可作為纖維原料。
