Śucisevaka (शुचिसेवक) refers to a “pure assistant” and is used to describe Nandin, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.24 (“Śiva consents to marry Pārvatī”).—Accordingly, as the Gods said to Nandin: “What shall we do now? Śiva has become detached and has gone on meditation. You are a companion of Śiva and pure assistant [i.e., śucisevaka]. You are omniscient. O chief of the Gaṇas, we seek refuge in you. Please guide us. What is the remedy by which Śiva can be propitiated?”.
