手心 [shǒu xīn] [shou xin]—
1. The center part of the palm. From "Book of Northern Qi, Volume 6, Biography of Emperor Xiaozhao": "The Empress Dowager often had heart pain and could not bear it. The Emperor stood waiting in front of the curtain, pinching the center of his palm (shǒuxīn) with his nails, causing blood to flow out of his sleeves." From "Dream of the Red Chamber" Chapter 44: "Just use a thin hairpin to pick a little and apply it to the palm of your hand (裡 [li] shǒuxīn lǐ)."
2. The scope that can be controlled. For example: "No matter how many changes you have, you can't escape his palm (shǒuxīn)." From "Dream of the Red Chamber" Chapter 56: "If at the end of the year when accounts are settled and money is returned, it will naturally go to the accounting office (帳房 [zhang fang] zhàngfáng), and there will still be another layer of manager on top (上頭 [shang tou] shàngtou), still in their hands (裡 [li] shǒuxīn lǐ), and another layer of skin will be peeled off."
手心:1.手掌的中心部分。《北齊書.卷六.孝昭帝紀》:「太后常心痛,不自堪忍,帝立侍帷前,以爪掐手心,血流出袖。」《紅樓夢》第四四回:「只用細簪子挑一點兒抹在手心裡。」

獸心 [shòu xīn] [shou xin]—
Heart of a beast. Describes someone who has lost their humanity and all sense of conscience. From Book of Han, Biography of the Five Sons of Emperor Wu, Liu Dan, King of Yan: "The Xiongnu (薰鬻氏 [xun yu shi]) are cruel and have the hearts of beasts, using cunning to deceive the border farmers (邊甿 [bian meng])." Tang Dynasty poet Meng Jiao wrote in his poem "Choosing Friends": "Among men, there are hearts of beasts; how many can truly recognize them?"
獸心:野獸的心。形容人泯滅人性,喪盡天良。《漢書.卷六三.武五子傳.燕剌王劉旦傳》:「薰鬻氏虐老獸心,以姦巧邊甿。」唐.孟郊〈擇友〉詩:「人中有獸心,幾人能真識?」
shòu xīn: yě shòu de xīn. xíng róng rén mǐn miè rén xìng, sàng jǐn tiān liáng. < hàn shū. juǎn liù sān. wǔ wǔ zi chuán. yàn lá wáng liú dàn chuán>: “xūn yù shì nüè lǎo shòu xīn, yǐ jiān qiǎo biān méng.” táng. mèng jiāo 〈zé yǒu〉 shī: “rén zhōng yǒu shòu xīn, jǐ rén néng zhēn shí?”
