Śivasparśa (शिवस्पर्श) refers to the “contact with Śiva”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.4.1 (“The dalliance of Śiva”).—Accordingly, as Brahmā said to Nārada: “[...] Lord ‘Śiva’ the bestower of honour, indulged in dalliance with Pārvatī for a thousand years of god. In that divine sport at the mere contact with Pārvatī, Śiva lapsed in unconsciousness. She too lapsed into unconsciousness due to the contact with Śiva (śivasparśa) [śivasparśādbubudhe]. She neither knew the day nor the night. [...]”.
