śirāṇī (शिराणी).—f (Poetry.) Delight, pleasure, gratification; delight in or fondness for. Ex. jilā harī- cē carītīṃ śi0 ॥; also na rāgē jarī kadhīṃ nandarāṇī || karī kṛṣṇa khōḍī jilā hē śi0 ॥.

śirāṇī (शिराणी).—f ( P Sweetness or sweetmeat.) Rareness and preciousness; rare delightfulness or good; a rare and precious thing or matter. This explication of the word is little known to the Maraṭhas, but the word is familiar to them, and in such applications as mulīlā āīcī śi0 jhālī; āja dudhācī śi0 jhālī; sāsū gharānta asatāṃ sunēsa parapuruṣāśīṃ bōlaṇyācī śi0 asatī; mōṭhyā gharīṃ lēṅka dyāvī bhēṭāyācī śi0 karāvī; where in their general understanding of it it means An excellent and most desirable thing but of rare obtainment or occurrence or of hard accomplishment.
