śilakāvaṇa (शिलकावण) [or णी, ṇī].—f (Verbal of śilakāviṇēṃ) Kindling &c., lit. fig. 2 fig. Exacting of money from a cultivator &c. (also the money exacted) by the peon or messenger sent to dun him for payment of the revenue due. v ghē. 3 (śilaka) The daily fine imposed for duty suffered to fall in arrear, or for monies (of the revenue) fraudulently retained.
