Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationŚikharāṇa (शिखराण) refers to the “course of one’s summits” [?], according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.36 (“The statements of the seven sages”).—Accordingly, as the Seven Sages said to Himavat (Himācala): “O mountain, you are the donor, Śiva is the mendicant, and the alms goddess Pārvatī. What else can be better than this? Since the course of your summits (śikharāṇa) is befitting, you are blessed, you are the chief of all mountains, you are great in every respect”.
