Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarṢīdhvam (षीध्वम्).—Combination of the verbal ending ध्वम् (dhvam) with the augment सीयुट् (sīyuṭ) prefixed to it, which is changed into षीढ्वम् (ṣīḍhvam) after a rootbase ending in a vowel excepting अ; cf. इणः षीध्वं लुङूलिटां धोङ्गात् (iṇaḥ ṣīdhvaṃ luṅūliṭāṃ dhoṅgāt) P.VIII. 3.78, 79.
