十三力 [shi san li]—The thirteen powers or bodhisattva balas of the Pure land school: 因力 [yin li], 緣力 [yuan li], 意力 [yi li], 願力 [yuan li], 方力 [fang li], 常力 [chang li], 善力 [shan li], 定力 [ding li], 慧力 [hui li], 多聞力 [duo wen li], 持戒忍辱精進禪定力 [chi jie ren ru jing jin chan ding li], 正念正觀諸通明力 [zheng nian zheng guan zhu tong ming li], and 如法調伏諸衆生力 [ru fa diao fu zhu zhong sheng li].

十三力 [shi san li]—The Thirteen Powers — [Nomenclature]
1. Power of Cause (因力 [yin li]): The power of good roots from past lives.
2. Power of Condition (緣力 [yuan li]): The power of teachings from good spiritual friends. The combination of these causes and conditions can give rise to practice.
3. Power of Intention (意力 [yi li]): The power of proper mental engagement.
4. Power of Vow (願力 [yuan li]): The power of seeking Bodhi.
5. Power of Skillful Means (方便力 [fang bian li]): The power of skillfully cultivating in accordance with the Dharma.
6. Power of Constancy (常力 [chang li]): The power of constantly cultivating in accordance with the Dharma.
7. Power of Goodness (善力 [shan li]): The power of good roots from proper cultivation.
8. Power of Samadhi (定力 [ding li]): The power of achieving tranquility through cultivation.
9. Power of Wisdom (慧力 [hui li]): The power of achieving insight through cultivation.
10. Power of Extensive Learning (多聞力 [duo wen li]): The power of extensively hearing and believing the true Dharma.
11. Power of Upholding Precepts, Patience, Diligence, and Meditation (持戒忍辱精進禪定力 [chi jie ren ru jing jin chan ding li]): The power of accomplishing the five perfections.
12. Power of Right Mindfulness, Right Contemplation, and Various Supernormal Powers and Insights (正念正觀諸通明力 [zheng nian zheng guan zhu tong ming li]): The power of accomplishing right mindfulness, right contemplation, the six supernormal powers, and the three insights.
13. Power of Subduing Sentient Beings in Accordance with the Dharma (如法調伏諸眾生力 [ru fa diao fu zhu zhong sheng li]): The power of subduing stubborn sentient beings in accordance with the Dharma.

十三力—【名數】一、因力,宿世之善根力也。二、緣力,善智識之教誨力也。此因緣和合,能起行。三、意力,如理作意之力也。四、願力,求菩提之力也。五、方便力,依法巧修之力也。六、常力,常依法而修之力也。七、善力,正修之善根力也。八、定力,修止成就之力也。九、慧力,修觀成就之力也。十、多聞力,多聞信正法之力也。十一、持戒忍辱精進禪定力,成就五度之力也。十二、正念正觀諸通明力,成就正念正觀六通三明之力也。十三、如法調伏諸眾生力,如法調伏剛強眾生之力也。西方淨土之菩薩,具足此十三力,能自利利他。見無量壽經下,同淨影疏。
