十發趣心 [shi fa qu xin]—The ten directional decisions: (1) renouncement of the world; (2) observance of the commandments; (3) patience or endurance; (4) zealous progress; (5) meditation; (6) wisdom or understanding; (7) 願心 [yuan xin] the will for good for oneself and others; (8) 護心 [hu xin] protection (of Buddha, Dharma, Sangha); (9) 喜心 [xi xin] joy; (10) 頂心 [ding xin] highest wisdom. v. 梵綱經 [fan gang jing], 心地品 [xin de pin].

十發趣心 [shi fa qu xin]—Ten Minds of Initiation—[Term] The Brahma Net Sutra (梵網經心地品 [fan wang jing xin de pin]), Chapter on the Mind Ground, states: "The Ten Minds of Initiation that lead towards the fruit (of Buddhahood) are: first, the mind of letting go (捨心 [she xin]); second, the mind of precepts (戒心 [jie xin]); third, the mind of patience (忍心 [ren xin]); fourth, the mind of diligence (進心 [jin xin]); fifth, the mind of concentration (定心 [ding xin]); sixth, the mind of wisdom (慧心 [hui xin]); seventh, the mind of vows (願心 [yuan xin]); eighth, the mind of protection (護心 [hu xin]); ninth, the mind of joy (喜心 [xi xin]); and tenth, the mind of culmination (頂心 [ding xin]). All Buddhas should know that from these Ten Minds of Initiation, one enters into the firm Dharma forbearance (堅法忍 [jian fa ren])." According to Master Ouyi's (蕅益大師 [ou yi da shi]) Combined Commentary on the Brahma Net Sutra (梵網合註 [fan wang he zhu]), these are considered to be the Ten Abodes (十住法門 [shi zhu fa men]) Dharma-gate.
十發趣心—【術語】梵網經心地品曰:「十發趣心向果:一捨心,二戒心,三忍心,四進心,五定心,六慧心,七願心,八護心,九喜心,十頂心。諸佛當知,從是十發趣入堅法忍中。」案明蕅益大師梵網合註以為即十住法門。
[shù yǔ] fàn wǎng jīng xīn de pǐn yuē: “shí fā qù xīn xiàng guǒ: yī shě xīn, èr jiè xīn, sān rěn xīn, sì jìn xīn, wǔ dìng xīn, liù huì xīn, qī yuàn xīn, bā hù xīn, jiǔ xǐ xīn, shí dǐng xīn. zhū fú dāng zhī, cóng shì shí fā qù rù jiān fǎ rěn zhōng.” àn míng ǒu yì dà shī fàn wǎng hé zhù yǐ wèi jí shí zhù fǎ mén.
[shu yu] fan wang jing xin de pin yue: "shi fa qu xin xiang guo: yi she xin, er jie xin, san ren xin, si jin xin, wu ding xin, liu hui xin, qi yuan xin, ba hu xin, jiu xi xin, shi ding xin. zhu fu dang zhi, cong shi shi fa qu ru jian fa ren zhong." an ming ou yi da shi fan wang he zhu yi wei ji shi zhu fa men.
