聖道 [sheng dao]—The holy way, Buddhism; the way of the saints, or sages; also the noble eightfold path.

聖道 [sheng dao]—Holy Path — [Term] The path of the sages. It is a general term for the paths practiced by the Three Vehicles (三乘 [san cheng]). Avatamsaka Sutra (華嚴經 [hua yan jing]) Volume 8 states: "Completely turn the wonderful Dharma wheel of the Holy Path." Satyasiddhi-śāstra (成實論 [cheng shi lun]) Volume 1 states: "The Holy Path can break all fetters/defilements (結使 [jie shi])." It is also the Eightfold Holy Path (八支 [ba zhi]). It is the same as the Eightfold Noble Path (八正道分 [ba zheng dao fen]). See the entry for Holy Path Gate (門 [men]).
