社怛梵 [she da fan]—Jatāvat — [School/Sect]. It is the name of a non-Buddhist (外道 [wai dao]) path. The Commentary on the Mahavairocana Sutra (大日經疏 [da ri jing shu]), Volume 1, states: "As for Jatāvat, it is said that their doctrines and tenets are largely similar to those of the 'Knowers' non-Buddhist school (知者外道 [zhi zhe wai dao]). However, because their factions (部黨 [bu dang]) are different, they are specifically distinguished."

社怛梵—【流派】Jatāvat,外道名。大日經疏一曰:「社怛梵者,謂與知者外道,宗計大同。但部黨別異故,特出之耳。」

[liú pài]Jatāvat, wài dào míng. dà rì jīng shū yī yuē: “shè dá fàn zhě, wèi yǔ zhī zhě wài dào, zōng jì dà tóng. dàn bù dǎng bié yì gù, tè chū zhī ěr.”

[liu pai]Jatavat, wai dao ming. da ri jing shu yi yue: "she da fan zhe, wei yu zhi zhe wai dao, zong ji da tong. dan bu dang bie yi gu, te chu zhi er."
