1) a good or virtuous son.

2) a son who performs all the prescribed rites in honour of his ancestors. -a. one who has a son; यद्यपि स्यात्तु सत्पुत्रोऽप्यसत्पुत्रोऽपि वा भवेत् (yadyapi syāttu satputro'pyasatputro'pi vā bhavet) Manusmṛti 9.154.
