Strangeness or extraordinariness; striking or remarkable quality or character (in or of any deed or document, any narrative, statement, report, money-account &c.) v pāha, kāḍha. 2 ( P Doubt, absence of doubt.) Clearing from doubt, uncertainty, unsettledness, indeterminateness &c.: also cleared state; certified and settled state, whether or no; determinedness one way or the other. 3 Inexactness or non-preciseness; deviation (whether by excess or by deficiency, whether on this side or on that) from strict rightness or nice and close conformity. 4 Used also as a & ad and in connection both with the second sense and with the third:--cleared or as cleared from doubt or uncertainty &c.; and inexact, unprecise, inaccurate, or inexactly &c. Note. The above applications are arbitrary, for the Maraṭhas, on seizing a foreign word, are restrained not from torturing it by any knowledge of etymology; but, being familiar, they could not be omitted.
Marathi is an Indo-European language having over 70 million native speakers people in (predominantly) Maharashtra India. Marathi, like many other Indo-Aryan languages, evolved from early forms of Prakrit, which itself is a subset of Sanskrit, one of the most ancient languages of the world.
