Satyānāsī (सत्यानासी) is the Hindi name for Kṣīriṇī, an unidentified medicinal plant, according to verse 5.50-51 of the 13th-century Raj Nighantu or Rājanighaṇṭu. Kṣīriṇī (or Satyānāsī as it is known in Hindi), is a widespread thorny shrub throughout the country Notes: Kṣīriṇī (or Satyānāsī as it is known in Hindi) can be identified with any of the following: 1) Garcinia morella Desr., 2) Euphorbia thomsoniana Boiss., 3) Argemone mexicana Linn., 4) Euphorbia pilosa Linn.—Also see Svarṇakṣīrī.
