Sarvakuñjarakula (सर्वकुञ्जरकुल) refers to “all of the elephant tribes”, according to the 15th century Mātaṅgalīlā composed by Nīlakaṇṭha in 263 Sanskrit verses, dealing with elephantology in ancient India, focusing on the science of management and treatment of elephants.—[Cf. chapter 1, “on the origin of elephants”]: [After Dīrghatapas cursed the elephants]: “13. The elephants of the quarters, attended by all the elephant tribes (sarvakuñjarakula), went and said to the Lotus-born (Brahmā): ‘O god, when our kinsfolk have gone to earth by the power of fate, they may be a prey to diseases, because of unsuitable and undigested food due to eating coarse things and overeating, and other causes’. Thus addressed by them in their great distress, the Lotus-born replied to them: ‘[...]’.”.
