sārōḷā (सारोळा).—m (sarvāḷā A Gujarathi word, meaning Addition.) A method of proving addition. Summing up the items and deducting them severally and successively from the amount, leaving undeducted the last line or item. This, if it be equal to the amount so reduced, proves the addition to be correct. v kara, utara.
