Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarysaraṇēṃ (सरणें).—v i (saraṇa S) To move on or forwards, aside or away, or back; to advance; to give place; to step, slip, start &c. out, off, or from its place; to yield, give, recede. Used of things animate and inanimate. Pr. sara ghōḍyā pāṇī khōla. 2 To slip or slide. 3 To be consumed, expended, exhausted, finished. 4 To go on or proceed smoothly, suitably, harmoniously. Ex. udyōgāvāñcūna mājhēṃ sarata nāhīṃ; paikyāvāñcūna kōṇhācēṃ sarata nāhīṃ. Also impersonally (days or time being understood); as per popular saw śējīvīṇa sarēnā āṇi ghaḍībhara paḍēnā There is no getting on without the company of a female neighbor, nor is there any agreeing with her when she comes. 5 To pass with or go along with in a fitting, suiting, becoming manner; to become or befit. Ex. hyā vayānta hēṃ bībhatsa bōlaṇēṃ tulā sarata nāhīṃ. sarō sarōsā hōṇēṃ To be wearied out with, and wish heartily to have done with. (To be as exclaiming, Be it passed! be it over! be it gone and done!)
