Sappokchomen refers to the “worship of womb for safe delivery of child”, in the tradition of the Mundhum—the ancient religious text and folk-literature of the Limbu’s (one of the indigenous ethnic communities of eastern Nepal)—Mundhums are an oral collection of sacred stories, historical narratives, and philosophical proverbs that make up the Limbu religious canon.
