掃愁帚 [sǎo chóu zhǒu] [sao chou zhou]—
Wine can sweep away sorrows and hatred, hence it is called "Sao Chou Zhou" (, broom of sorrow). Song Dynasty, Su Shi (蘇軾 [su shi]) in his poem "Dongting Chunse" (洞庭春色 [dong ting chun se], Dongting Spring Color): "Should be called 'Diao Shi Gou' (釣詩鉤 [diao shi gou], fishing hook of poetry), also named 'Sao Chou Zhou'." "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, Volume Six, Eight Great Kings": "Its name is wine (酒 [jiu]), its names are numerous,... some consider it 'Diao Shi Gou' (釣詩鉤 [diao shi gou]), and others consider it 'Sao Chou Zhou'."
