saṇasaṇīta (सणसणीत).—a (saṇa!) Boiling hot; singing from intense heat;--as water, milk &c. 2 Hot, biting, fiery, highly-seasoned--a dish. 3 Tense, tight, firm, strong, compact, thick-set, strong-knit;--used freely, in opposition to lax, slack, flaccid, limber, of thread, cord, cloth, texture, man, animal, package. 4 Blunt, plump, plain, flat, positive and unequivocal;--as a refusal, reply, communication. 5 Stiffly dry;--as a washed cloth: crackling and rustling;--as a new garment. 6 (with or without the word kōrā) Strong-sounding, of a high and full ring, i. e. good;-- used of coins, metal vessels &c.
