Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarSaṃyogādilopa (संयोगादिलोप).—The elision of the first of the conjunct consonants if it is स् (s) or क् (k), provided the conjunct consonants are at the end of a word or followed by a consonant which is not a semi-vowel nor a nasal; e. g. तक्, तष्टवान् (tak, taṣṭavān) from the root तक्ष् (takṣ); cf. स्कोः संयोगाद्योरन्ते च (skoḥ saṃyogādyorante ca) P. VIII. 2.99.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas.
