Saṃvartana (संवर्तन).—(1) adj., = saṃvartaka (1), q.v: °nā pi vātā, mss., Mahāvastu i.236.15 (verse; Senart °kā); (2) (to saṃ- vartati 2) subst., and perhaps adj., (the) conducing, leading (to, in composition): atyantasukhasarvajñatābhūmi-°nāya pari- nāmayati Śikṣāsamuccaya 215.5, develops so as to conduce to…; sarva- bodhisattvasaṃbhāra-°na-cittā ([bahuvrīhi]) Gaṇḍavyūha 279.20 (here °na could be translation(s) as adj. or subst.).
