1) To remember, think of, call to mind; स्मर संस्मृत्य न शान्तिरस्ति मे (smara saṃsmṛtya na śāntirasti me) Kumārasambhava 4.17; राजन् संस्मृत्य संस्मृत्य संवादमिममद्भुतम् (rājan saṃsmṛtya saṃsmṛtya saṃvādamimamadbhutam) Bhagavadgītā (Bombay) 18.76-77; Manusmṛti 4.149.

2) To recollect fully. -Caus. To remind, put in mind of; (pātālaṃ) मामद्य संस्मरयतीव भुजङ्गलोकः (māmadya saṃsmarayatīva bhujaṅgalokaḥ) Ratnāvalī 1.13.
