Source: academia.edu: A Study and Translation of the GaganagañjaparipṛcchāSaṃketapada (संकेतपद) refers to “conventional expressions”, according to the Gaganagañjaparipṛcchā: the eighth chapter of the Mahāsaṃnipāta (a collection of Mahāyāna Buddhist Sūtras).—Accordingly: “[...] In fact, both defilement and purification (saṃkleśa-vyavadāna) are just conventional expressions (saṃketapada). Defilement and purification (saṃkleśa-vyavadāna) are not apprehended within the limit of the ultimate truth. Since the limit of the ultimate truth is beyond limit, that which is beyond limit is the true limit (bhūtakoṭi). [...]”.
Mahayana (महायान, mahāyāna) is a major branch of Buddhism focusing on the path of a Bodhisattva (spiritual aspirants/ enlightened beings).
