Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammar1) Saṃjñābhūta (संज्ञाभूत).—That, which by usage has become a technical word possessed of a conventional sense; cf. किं पुनर्यानि एतानि संज्ञाभूतानि आख्यानानि तत्र उत्पत्त्या भवितव्यम् (kiṃ punaryāni etāni saṃjñābhūtāni ākhyānāni tatra utpattyā bhavitavyam), M. Bh. on III. 1. 26 Vart. 7;
2) Saṃjñābhūta.—Which stands as a proper noun or the name of a person; cf. संज्ञाभूतास्तु न सर्वादयः (saṃjñābhūtāstu na sarvādayaḥ) S. K. on P. I. 1.27.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas.
