From History of the Song Dynasty, Volume 446, Biographies of Loyalty and Righteousness 1, Biography of Li Ruoshui (宋史 [song shi].卷四四六 [juan si si liu].忠義傳一 [zhong yi chuan yi].李若水傳 [li ruo shui chuan]): "The relevant officials followed customary practices and wanted to add ru li (, elaborate ceremonies), which was not the way to quell public opinion."
