rukhavata (रुखवत).—n The ceremony, in weddings, of the father and friends of the bride taking refreshments to the abode of the bridegroom, for him to make a repast previously to their conducting him to the house where the nuptials are to be celebrated. 2 The articles of refreshment so taken: also the repast so made. In some places this ceremony is performed after the bridegroom has been conducted to the house of the bride.
