蹂躪 [róu lìn] [rou lin]—
1. To trample. Example from The Book of Han, Biography of Wang Shang (漢書 [han shu]．卷八二 [juan ba er]．王商傳 [wang shang chuan]): "The common people ran around, trampling (相 [xiang]xiāng róulìn) on each other, and there was great chaos in Chang'an (長安 [zhang an])." Example from Slapping the Table in Amazement, First Collection, Volume 30 (初刻拍案驚奇 [chu ke pai an jing qi]．卷三 [juan san]○): "Trampled (róulìn) so that no grass grew on the ground, so annoyed that the soul was afraid in dreams." Also written as "蹂轔 [rou lin] róulín," "蹂踐 [rou jian] róujiàn," or "蹂若 [rou ruo] róuruò."
2. To devastate, to ravage. Example from The Travels of Lao Ts'an, Chapter 1 (老殘遊記 [lao can you ji]．第一回 [di yi hui]): "Instead of thinking of a way to appease them and dock early, they ravaged (róulìn) good people there." Example from A History of Civilization, Chapter 35 (文明小史 [wen ming xiao shi]．第三五回 [di san wu hui]): "After Zhongxiang (仲翔 [zhong xiang]) finished reading the letter, he said with great anger in his heart: 'Why should our Han (漢 [han]) people be ravaged (róulìn) by foreign races?'"
蹂躪：1.踐踏。《漢書．卷八二．王商傳》：「百姓奔走相蹂躪，長安中大亂。」《初刻拍案驚奇》卷三○：「蹂躪得地上草不生，蒿惱得夢中魂也怕。」也作「蹂轔」、「蹂踐」、「蹂若」。
2.摧殘。《老殘遊記》第一回：「他們不知想法敷衍著早點泊岸，反在那裡蹂躪好人。」《文明小史》第三五回：「仲翔看完了信，心中大怒道：『我們漢種的人為何要異種人來蹂躪。』」
róu lìn:1. jiàn tà. < hàn shū． juǎn bā èr． wáng shāng chuán>: “bǎi xìng bēn zǒu xiāng róu lìn, zhǎng ān zhōng dà luàn.” < chū kè pāi àn jīng qí> juǎn sān○: “róu lìn dé de shàng cǎo bù shēng, hāo nǎo dé mèng zhōng hún yě pà.” yě zuò “róu lín” ,, “róu jiàn” ,, “róu ruò” .
2. cuī cán. < lǎo cán yóu jì> dì yī huí: “tā men bù zhī xiǎng fǎ fū yǎn zhe zǎo diǎn pō àn, fǎn zài nà lǐ róu lìn hǎo rén.” < wén míng xiǎo shǐ> dì sān wǔ huí: “zhòng xiáng kàn wán le xìn, xīn zhōng dà nù dào: ‘wǒ men hàn zhǒng de rén wèi hé yào yì zhǒng rén lái róu lìn.’ ”
rou lin:1. jian ta. < han shu. juan ba er. wang shang chuan>: "bai xing ben zou xiang rou lin, zhang an zhong da luan." < chu ke pai an jing qi> juan san○: "rou lin de de shang cao bu sheng, hao nao de meng zhong hun ye pa." ye zuo "rou lin" ,, "rou jian" ,, "rou ruo" .
2. cui can. < lao can you ji> di yi hui: "ta men bu zhi xiang fa fu yan zhe zao dian po an, fan zai na li rou lin hao ren." < wen ming xiao shi> di san wu hui: "zhong xiang kan wan le xin, xin zhong da nu dao: 'wo men han zhong de ren wei he yao yi zhong ren lai rou lin.' "
