Rogagrasta (रोगग्रस्त) refers to “afflicted by ailments”, release from which is obtainable through the worship of Śiva, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.1.14:—“[...] a person afflicted by ailments (rogagrasta) shall worship half that number [for details, see text]. A person desiring a daughter (kanya-kāma) shall worship half that number”.
