Source: Sutta: The Pali Text Society's Pali-English DictionaryRittāsana refers to: an empty seat Sn. 963 (explained at Nd1 481 as “opportunity for sitting down which is free from unbefitting sights”).
Note: rittāsana is a Pali compound consisting of the words ritta and āsana.
Pali is the language of the Tipiṭaka, which is the sacred canon of Theravāda Buddhism and contains much of the Buddha’s speech. Closeley related to Sanskrit, both languages are used interchangeably between religions.
