Rekhāśāstra (रेखाशास्त्र) or Lekhāśāstra refers to the “palmistry” or “the śāstra of lines”.—In the ninth century CE, Rekhāśāstra pertaining to men was a separate system of prognostication, distinguished from Lakṣaṇaśāstra; while Rekhāśāstra pertaining to women had been a part of the Lakṣaṇaśāstra from the time of Garga in the first century CE.
