rātavā (रातवा).—m (rāta) The whole period or term of the night: also the night-season, or the night-state, nightness. v paḍa, hō. 2 Night-rain. Ex. rā0 paḍūṃ lāgalā; rātavyācyā pāvasānēṃ or rātavyānēṃ bājarī nāsēla. 3 Taking out (of a horse) by night; that he may learn not to shy or start. v dat. of o. pāvasānēṃ rā0 dharalā The rain has begun to fall at night. rā0 ghēūna nighaṇēṃ To set out whilst yet night.
